Hey Dad! Look at us on our first day of school!

To Braden, so you don't feel like you totally missed it...

1st day of first grade, Mrs. Dickinson, who has taught first grade for 29 years and is serious about it. Anabelle loves her and loves school.
First day of Kindergarten, Mrs. Moore, who has taught Kindergarten for 29 years also and is fantastic. She came home the first day and I asked her what she did. She said, "We touched ourselves all over our whole bodies".  I may be volunteering a bit more this year.

Anabelle and Maisey are similar kinds of crazy and they tend to bring it out in each other. Lila always seems a bit uncomfortable when they do this. It's just not her style.

In line to go in. Already found a friend and it telling her a silly story.
Friend from the neighborhood. Anabelle showed the slightest hint of nervousness and asked me twice to make sure I would pick her up. She said going to school the whole day was too long and she would miss me. But I think we both knew as she said it that she didn't really mean it.
What?! Maisey hurt her finger. Just showing her Dad which one. Sheesh, grow up.
About to go in to class. Doesn't she look terrified to leave me? I choked back some tears.

This is right before Lila's first real day of school. She has afternoon kindergarten and she didn't show any sadness when it was time to go either. They hugged each other and Maisey told her, "Lila go stand in line. You have to go to school now". She was actually doing a weird dance with her socks as all the kids walked away. I got a giant running/yelling hug when I picked her up though. These two are tight like unto a dish. I'm interested to see what Maisey will do in the afternoons without her bestie to boss around and reach the Nutella for her. May my house be cleaner for the small separation.

I begged her not to but she did it anyways.

Since she went ahead and turned three we thought we'd let her celebrate it.

Maisey did a great job patiently waiting for Dad to come home so it could be her birthday. She wanted to have a monster party. Pink and purple monsters, which everyone knows are the most ferocious kind.
Good morning birthday girl!
Cash money! Thanks Grandmother & Grand-dad! Now I can buy Mom a pack of toilet paper since I put a roll of it down the potty most days.
Stickers from Aunt Cathy. Which she preferred over the expensive-ish toy we got her. Lesson learned.
Awesome outfit from Grandparents Reynolds, and one to match her dolly. In her favorite color no less, with all the frill and fanciness that Maisey truly appreciates.
Little People zoo we got her.
Pet Shops from the Crums next door. Mister Crum and Maisey have a special friendship. She likes to hug him everyday when he pulls up from work.
We went swimming at the base pool before her party as a family.

Don't miss all the holes she poked in the cake while I was getting the food ready. She took the time to go to the bathroom, get the heavy stool, carry it to the kitchen, and climb up to reach her cake. I felt like she had worked so hard for it she deserved it. It was after all, her cake and her birthday.

Thanks Mrs. Vania for making my cake!

I sure love this little girl. It was a great day. It is so fun to give Maisey things because she gets so excited and happy and grateful. She made the day delightful. As always we were so grateful to get to share the day with our families and a few friends.
