My latest sewing project
Finally, I got set up to sew. I figured I would leave the dirty dishes and floor and sew for an hour while the kids watch a movie before bed. Emmett was watching the movie with the girls. Maisey brought him to me sniffeling tears, lip curled over, scared of a monster. He was trying to tell me about it through his tears, and I couldn't understand him, making it that much cuter. I took him to his room and rocked him on our red chair. I read him several books until I was sure the monsters were far from his mind. Then I turned off his light, wrapped his blanket around him and stood by his crib, rocking him and holding him tight. I whispered in his ear how much I love him (so much forever), and he whispered it back in mine- with his little baby voice in his newly realized whisper voice. I thanked him for going on a walk with me today. He said "You're welcome". I thanked him for making me happy and told him I was so grateful to be his mom. After several moments exchanging these messages I lowered him into his bed and stroked his hair and his face. I thought to myself that I had better really hang onto these moments because a boy might not like his mom loving on him constantly as he grows older. The thought of him one day not being my little boy kept me frozen in that spot for minutes. My next thought was that heaven has to feel something like loving a two year old and knowing that it will never end. And now it's time to get the girls to bed. I never did get to sew. But I am holding on tight to these moments that are flying past me daily.

Robber's Cave
I bought a voucher for a cabin at Robber's Cave. I always find that about this time in the winter we need a little getaway to deal with the drabness. We loved it so much we bought another night and kept the party rolling. Time with my people spent in nature is my most favorite of favorites. We did all the hikes and roasted all the mallows and left no fun to be had.

The day my baby turned two
I made him his own batch of oatmeal applesauce muffins and wrapped them up as a gift. Upon opening them, he spoke no words, just started shoving them in his mouth. He played at the Horrocks house for a while and we got pizza for dinner. He ate the cheese and olives off four slices of pizza, leaving four completely naked triangles of bread. He loved the tractor cake I made him and was so happy and sweet while we were singing to him. When it was time to blow out the candles, he didn't know what he was supposed to do of cours, but he knew we all wanted him to do something, so he started to grab them. We all yelled for him to stop and blow on them. He paused for a minute and then blew each one out all by himself. He really enjoyed that experience and it was so fun to watch.
