The day my baby turned two

Decorating for our kids birthday the night before has become standard. The kids have come to expect and look forward to seeing the house decorated just for them as soon as they wake up. While Emmett didn't wake up expecting this, his reaction was priceless. There were Batman logos and balloons hanging all over. He couls see one in the hall outside his room. He immedialetly wanted to kiss it. When I carried him out to kiss it and he saw all the others, he literally gasped and covered his mouth after a few attempts to speak. Seeing a tiny child completely overwhelmed with joy and awe to the point of being speechless was the best. I'm counting that moment as my birthday present.

I made him his own batch of oatmeal applesauce muffins and wrapped them up as a gift. Upon opening them, he spoke no words, just started shoving them in his mouth. He played at the Horrocks house for a while and we got pizza for dinner. He ate the cheese and olives off four slices of pizza, leaving four completely naked triangles of bread. He loved the tractor cake I made him and was so happy and sweet while we were singing to him. When it was time to blow out the candles, he didn't know what he was supposed to do of cours, but he knew we all wanted him to do something, so he started to grab them. We all yelled for him to stop and blow on them. He paused for a minute and then blew each one out all by himself. He really enjoyed that experience and it was so fun to watch.
