The Dinner Conversation Tonight

Me: Anabelle, in five minutes it's bedtime ok? Five minutes.
Anabelle: (hugging me) I love you Mom.
Me: I love you too Anabelle.

30 seconds pass

Anabelle: You guys are so cute (to Braden and I as we look at each other and roll our eyes at our little schmoozer).

a minute or two later...

Me: What are we gonna do in 2 minutes Anabelle?
Anabelle: You're gonna play with me? 2 minutes until you play with me Mom (as she hugs me).
Me: No, 2 minutes until you go night night
Anabelle:NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

a few seconds later

Anabelle: You're a skinny mom (as I eat my 30th nacho)

The skinny line may have worked if she hadn't already called me "big fat mom" earlier. Which by itself would have been overlooked but a few minutes after she did that she began pushing on my stomach and saying, "Squish, squish". Yesterday she was calling me "churchy Mom". Not sure how to take that one. We put her to bed shaking our heads at each other, at a loss for words about that kid. What a character.

-"Anabelle, you just peed on my foot and leg." AB: "I'm incredible"!!
-ME: "Anabelle, don't argue with me" AB:" I have to. Because I am a pirate and pirate's say 'ARG!' to you"
-ME:"Anabelle, did you toot or did Lila?" AB: "Lila did" ME:"Are you sure it wasn't you?" AB:"ABSOLUTE!! It was Lila! And it was gross. Lila you smell skunky!"
-AB:"I need some milk. I'm really sick of this." ME:"of what?" AB:"Of eating adult toothpaste." ME: "how much did you eat?!" AB:"I just need a lil water. I'll be okay".
-ME:"Anabelle did you pee on the floor?" AB: "Yes. But I covered it up with toilet papers and towels. Just don't look Mom."
-"Little baby pigs are my favorite. Their twitchy little ears are good enough for me!"
-AB:"My armpits are yellow. And Dad's are black"
-AB forces Lila to suck on a paci even though she doesn't like them, then says, "NOW you're a normal baby!"
-"Mom! I did a family of poops! A mommy poop and a daddy poop and a lil tiny baby poop and they are a family!!"
-I taught her to say, "God Bless America" when she sees the American flag. She thought I said, "Gotta bless America". So we heard "Gotta bless America" every 30 feet driving down the road as they recently decorated for Memorial day.
-"I will never ever ever make you feel sad ever again. That's why you don't have to be all crying."
-Someone in the check-out line next to us tells Anabelle that she is smart. In a voice that would make you think she was the adult talking to the 2 year old she looks over and says, "Yes! Yes, I am! I'm very very smart!!"
-ME:"Anabelle, you made SUCH a mess of Dad's music". AB: "Oh, Mom. That's nothing you need to cry about".
-Anabelle sees Braden in the shower...AB:" Oh Dad! What's that part of your bum?!!"
- I tell Anabelle to come inside..."Few more minutes. Just a few more minutes?" ME: "Ok, but when I say that it's bath time in a few minutes there will be no whining ok?" AB: "I'll only whine about taking a bath" ME: "No. That's what I'm telling you not to do" AB: "Ok. Then I'll only whine when you put soap in our hair. That's when I usually whine".
-"A cars bum is in his trunk"
-ME: "Anabelle, do you want an olive?" AB: "Yea! I want a olive! I want olive them!"
-AB: "Vegetables hurt Lila's feelings".-
-Me: "Anabelle, please don't grow up" AB: "I need to." Me: "Why?" AB: "Because I need to get a scooter".
-AB: "AWWWWWWWW, MOM! Lila pooped on me!!!" Me: "What?!" (I look back and see that she stepped in dog poop) Me: No, you stepped in dog poop" AB: "Oh, I thought Lila pooped on me".
-Braden:" Anabelle, do you want to be in time out?" AB: "Hey, only Mom says that to me!"
-Braden speaking spanish to some guys after a soccer game...AB: "Dad, only Dora talks like that"
- ME: "What did you learn in nursery today buddy?" AB:" Um, I learned about how Jesus decorated the earth".
-"Oh, you should let me make your hair. It's kinda lookin yuck".
-I was recently crying and Anabelle came up to me and asked for a drink. I sort of whispered to her "ok". She asked me if Lila was sleeping and I told her she wasn't. She said, "Then talk louder!" Then she said, "Are you feeling sad? DID DAD MAKE YOU SAD?! DID SOMEONE SCARE YOU?! WAS IT LILA?! She totally had my back.
-While on the toilet with her first experience of having the runs, it startles her and she scares herself and yells at me in a surprised voice, "MOM! I'M POOPING FASTER!"
-Anabelle: "Mom? We are beautiful like each other"
-I begin teaching a FHE lesson about the creation by saying, "Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ..." and Anabelle shouts "AMEN!" and gets up to leave.
-AB: "Mom, what is this? ME: "It's a Q-tip" AB: "Awww yeah, it is a cute lil tip huh?"
-AB: "Mom, I smashed my finger". ME: "Oh you did? On What?" AB: "On purpose"
