The kids used the stumps we arranged in Grandma's yard last fall as school desks to do their work. And then as a table at lunch time. And then in the afternoon they had multiple uses in several different games. They spent hours outside in what feels like a private wooded world. Exactly the way it should be. It gave me the feeling that things are just right in our world. If only for a few days.
