Bears and Babies- the trash eating edition

I don't know how many times you throw something away, but in our house, it is an 11 step process:

1) Carry one's trash to the trash receptacle and throw it in.

2) Notice that there is garbage all over the floor. Clean up all trash surrounding the receptacle that has been sorted through, licked, and picked over by someone who stands knee level.

3) Get a rag and some cleaner. Scrub floor that is now sticky.

4) Take the trash out to avoid repeat process.

5)Don't get mad.

6) Go outside the next morning to notice that all trash has been spread across the lawn. This includes but is not limited to, a vast collection of week old diapers, and food that is now covered in ants.

7) Don't get mad.

8) Get gloves stolen from doctors office for just such occassions. Clean up yard. Go inside to wash hands.

9) Enter the kitchen to see that the trash in the kitchen has been spread across the floor and Maisey is looking pleased as punch at your choice of yogurt flavors.

10) Don't get mad.

11) Look into composting or trash burning. Although, we didn't seem to have had a good experience with the latter. Must invest in a trash can with a lid.

That's my kid, in every sense of the word. Get it? Kid, like a baby goat and she's eating my trash? Just wanted to make sure everyone is getting my Dad-humor jokes.

My word, would somebody change her diaper already?

The other evening I went out to throw a diaper away in the trash and noticed this guy getting a drink from the lake. By the time I got my camera he was done. Although the bear is constantly eating our trash and hanging around our house, my neighbor who has lived here for five years never gets to see it. I think it's all the diapers in my trash. I told her its because it is an American bear- it likes its food processed.

Just hurry and get to Utah and you won't have to worry about such creatures rummaging through the trash... just mormon road blocks and green carrot jello at the neighborhood picnic :)
love you guys and love the pics!
